North Downs Way (ish) - Day 3

Updated: Apr 1, 2023

45 miles & 2400 feet of climbing

What can I say about today's ride? There was a persistent theme and that was water!! ☔️☔️ 🌧🌧🌧 Whether it be surface water, flooding, spray from passing cars or water falling from the skies we got it all today!

Due to the persistent rain again the previous night we decided we would continue our south east cycle adventure on the road. Using the cycle.travel app it plots a cycle route on quiet country lanes.

Ride was all in Kent today starting off in the area of outstanding natural beauty continuing through the garden of England -certainly could be the Garden of England because it gets enough rain!! Loved seeing so many oast houses as well!

Through quiet country lanes through East Fairfields and the first of three big climbs today and then onward to the most pretty little village called Loose.

Had to have an emergency chocolate stop on the road where we made friends with the cutest donkeys ever!

But then it was only a short hop to Lenham where we had lunch stop.

Final push into Canterbury along the great Stour way along the river all the way into Canterbury.

So much surface water and flooding today, by the time we arrived at the premier in we were absolutely filthy and dripping.

I have to say that in a twisted sort of way I did actually enjoy it today! Not sure my cycling pals feel the same way!! 😂😂

All the above are the lovely village of Loose
